Following the successful deployment of three local microgrids (Blue Lake Rancheria
Community Microgrid, Blue Lake Rancheria Solar+ Microgrid, Redwood Coast Airport
Microgrid), the Schatz Energy Research Center (Schatz Center) at Cal Poly Humboldt is
leading the development of three new megawatt-scale community microgrid projects in
Humboldt County, California.
We are seeking to partner with a consulting engineering firm to help develop civil, structural, and electrical plans and specifications, and cost estimates to support delivery of three community microgrid projects. Funded by a combination of federal and state grants and other sources, The Schatz Center intends to execute a three-year Task Order Services Agreement (TOSA) with an estimated value of $1.5 million to cover engineering support through design, procurement, construction, and commissioning. Each of the three projects are being deployed along the same timeline with anticipated commercial operation dates in 2029.
*Please see the full engineering services Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for more information on engineering roles and responsibilities, project deployment timelines, and the request for qualifications process.
